lyrics

Seasons crept upon me, winter was the first. I called my father, whose health turned for the worst.
"Hold on..." was the only thing that I could hope to say. Reality in front of me would never fade away.
And in the spring I saw the birth of my first child. I knew that things were hard but I couldn't help but smile.
"Hey son, I know it's difficult but a light is on the way, so give the girl a kiss for me" (and) "i love you" he would say...

Tears that never show, how was I to know?
Words you never spoke before you had to go...this time.

That summer proved to be the hardest of my years. That's when I realized I'd face a certain fear.
No way would he ever meet my little girl, never would he hold her hand and tell her of the world.
Then autumn came and with it a silent sort of sound. We chose your ashes, no need to put you in the ground
Hey now, you wanted to be free, so when the time was right we closed our eyes and put you in the sea

Tears that never show, how was I to know?
Words you never spoke before you had to go.
Tears that never show, how was I to know...this time?
